A protean artist, Jan Kopp (born in 1970 in Germany) likes to capture the infinitesimal moments of our existence, in which beings and objects escape their destiny or their function for a brief moment. It is in this imperceptible interval between two phenomena that the artist builds his work. Jan Kopp has taken part in several residency programmes in France and abroad, including PS1/MoMA in New York. His works have already been presented at the Centre Georges Pompidou, Galerie des enfants (2015), the Centre d'art de la Criée in Rennes (2013), the Centre d'art Contemporain, Abbaye de Maubuisson (2011), the Kunstraum Dornbirn (2010, Austria), the FRAC Alsace (2008) as well as the Centre d'art de la Bastille in Grenoble (2008).
